New Zealand High Schools would need a good level of English. Direct enrolment into New Zealand High School is possible but it is recommended that students improve their English and learn about New Zealand before attempting to study at the High Schools.

Waikato Institute of Education's High School Preparation programme students can improve their English and learn about New Zealand school culture, study systems or methods, exams and further tertiary education available in New Zealand.

St Peter's School, Cambridge is an independent co-educational secondary and preparatory school for Years 7-13 (aged 11-18 years). The school has both day and boarding students and is affiliated to the Anglican Church.

Founded in 1936, the school's educational philosophy is to develop "body, mind and spirit" .The school was founded in 1936.We base our educational philosophy on development of "body, mind and spirit".The school aims to develop the whole person through academic programmes, chapel services, sports, pastoral care,

outdoor education, music and leadership opportunities.

St Peter's is located on 40 hectares of park like grounds 5 minutes from the town of Cambridge and 20 minutes from Hamilton. The facilities are modern, with 6 faculty based teaching centres, attached computer suites, auditorium, students' centre, sports fields,

astroturf, equestrian and golf facilites.

St Peter's is organised as a Year 7-13 school, and in the junior classes, in particular, there is emphasis in the sound teaching of the basics. We believe in streaming, homework and the value of external examinations. The school's academic record is outstanding.

St Peter's offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma as a pathway for Y12 and 13 students. This highly regarded international qualification will be attractive to many students. NCEA Level 1-3, as well as Cambridge mathematics are also available in the school.

As part of the special character of the school, an importance is placed on divinity, music and the performing arts. The school has some of the best facilities, a multi-purpose auditorium, purpose-built academic blocks, and integrated technology.

There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including rugby, cricket, netball, rowing, snow sports, touch, athletics, badminton, squash, soccer, swimming and hockey. As well there is a golf academy, tennis academy, sports academy and a purpose built Equestrian

centre. Music and cultural activities are an integral part of school life, with inter-house music competitions, a performing arts week and a widely-acclaimed annual school production. A wide range of individual music tuition is offered and students can become involved in the orchestra, band, choirs, dance,

theatresports, Stage challenge, speech and drama.

St Peter's was one of the first colleges to join the Enviroschools programme in 2003 and has been awarded both the bronze and silver awards. A whole school programme of recycling and waste management practices is fully operational and lead by the students. The school

has participated in 'conservation camps' in the Urewera National Park since 1977.
