Can I work while studying English in New Zealand?
Some international students studying English in New Zealand can work, but work rights depend on the student's visa conditions and study circumstances.
Simple answer first
Some English-language students may be allowed to work while they study in New Zealand.
This is not automatic. Your permission to work depends on your visa conditions, your study situation, and the current Immigration New Zealand requirements.

How many hours may be allowed?
Immigration New Zealand says some eligible students can work up to 25 hours in any given week while studying.

Study permission and work permission are different
Being allowed to study in New Zealand does not always mean you are allowed to work.
